A Sunny Winter Grad Shoot at U of G

This was another snowy February Grad Session at University of Guelph, but the lighting was far from your typical winter photoshoot! ☀️ Usually snowy sessions are overcast with soft light that lets you essentially shoot any direction you’d like, however this session we encountered some beautiful golden hour sun for some beautiful backlighting to provide more depth to the images.

Being a graduation photographer, I’ve photographed hundreds of grads and thousands of photos on U of G’s campus so I’m quite comfortable in any lighting scenario that we run into on a grad session. The sun on this shoot was a nice challenge to overcome and it allowed us to create some truly spectacular grad photos for these guys.

Being roommates for their time at UofG, Kevin, Issac, & Damian wanted photos together to capture some memories of the last few years together at university.

You’ll see we also took a detour to the greenhouse on campus to get out of the cold, warm up, and get some photos with the beautiful plants. I’m a huge fan of plants so I try to visit the greenhouse during every grad photo session if the door is unlocked. It always provides some truly unique backgrounds that you don’t see in most grad photos and one of the reasons I love making photos at the University of Guelph.

Below you’ll see some of my favourite images from this graduation photo session.
