First music festival of the summer, Field Trip. Headliner: Broken Social Scene. SOLD. 

Surrounded by thousands of like-minded people, food trucks, and all your favourite bands. Standing in line at Fidel Gastro behind Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene) and Emily Haines (Metric, Broken Social Scene). Don't fan out, you're better than that. Keep your head down and eat your Pad Thai fries. Unequivocal proof that Matt Basile (Fidel Gastro, Food Network) is a genius.

Flying solo this weekend, music festivals facilitate new friendship. Trick is to find a picnic table with a good view of the stage, plant yourself with a couple $10 beers, and wait for friendship to find you. Within 20 minutes I have a new group of friends and we subsequently spend the rest of the weekend together. Mission accomplished.
